Sickbeard the best there is?

I am using Plex most of the time and it began to annoy me to remember to download stuff so my no PC literate housemate can turn on plex and watch the series we both like.

I use Sabnzdb and i saw that it works well with sickbeard. I had a mess about with it last night and got it kinda partially working. Before i spend another few hours on this can i ask if this is the daddy of the auto download programs for Mac Osx?

I downloaded it but cannot even run it. Me and command line have never really got on

Both are very very complex tbh. Could not get it going and followed the guides to the letter. Cheers for trying though

Yes nzb drone is far better, it snatches other releases if one fails where as sickbeard just does the one.!

NZBDrone is very good I switched from Sickbeard and don't regret it, it takes a bit of working out and setting up but once done it just works and better IMHO

Thanks for the info on this guys and gals. Got it working well. When you step back and look at it then it's not cheap. A broadband connection, a usernet account, then an indexing site.Still, it's free for the shows and films i guess.

In the last few days i have tried Sickbeard, Couch Potato and Nzbdrone and Drone works well when set up. It was deffo a learning cure.

When i was stuck it was due to this :

1) Open Terminal 2) Run mono with debugging enabledmono --debug /full/path/to/extracted/NzbDrone/NzbDrone.exe

I actually thought i had to type the above......what a retard i am!!! Ah well. Got it now

What are you lot using as an indexing site for auto download? For Sickbeard and NZB Drone etc.
