I've been at BT since I was 19 years old - I'm now 38! Started as a contractor looking after Novell servers internally and now I work on a number of high profile external contracts and design server solutions. I love it and the pay is pretty good - Shame I'm in so much debt after the missus left me - can't even afford to eat properly at the moment

It's a good company to work for but you can get dragged down by all the bureaucracy - same as any other large company I would bet.

My son wants a job at BT now - he's 18 - but getting in there is pretty tough. So many applicants.

I hate the crap these big companies dish out that's why I want to move from the company I work for now cos of all the shit that goes on.

When I started with my current employer I was one of the first batch of new bods a group of say 500 out of 2000 engineers nationally and the first batch of applications they had was over 25.000.

So for me to get a interview with BT I presume its the same situation.

    This was my email

You can expect a competence based interview covering the following areas.

    CV walk through
Explanation of his current role/employment with questions around what he does now
Rational for the application to BT
    His understanding of BT
Examples of handling customer and/or technical issues
    And a colour blind test.

The interview itself will be with a BT manager and will last between 30 and 60 minutes.

The Jobs that are available are Customer Service Engineer and Cable Recovery.

Well I have heard nothing from them, and have given up on hearing anything now.
On a positive note, I had an interview at Atos yesterday, and I thought it went pretty well. Was in for an hour 20 though, which seemed long.

4 stages was easier than my current employer but I just wanted an opportunity and if they said yes at least I could of thought it over.

    Their loss.
