It's the same kind of tech used in the Nintendo 3DS, so suffers a bit from viewing angles when in 3D mode. tbh I've not used it much at all, there are loads of 3D videos and stuff you can download for it and I've played a handful of games which worked pretty well, but apart from that it's just been gathering dust.

3D programming is typically transmitted in one of two formats: Side-by-Side or Top-and-Bottom. The NEO3DO is able to show both formats faithfully simply by choosing the format. More info is available HERESide-by-Side 3D Format
Side-by-side is a 3D transmission format. Side-by-side preserves vertical image resolution, but cuts horizontal image resolution in half, as the left eye and right eye images are squeezed to fit into one video frame. The NEO3DO converts these squeezed frames back into sequential full frames of left and right by streatching and overlaying the images.
Top-and-Bottom 3D Format

Top-and-Bottom is another transmission format for 3D video streams. In a top/bottom 3D image, both the left eye and right eye information occupy the same video frame, with left eye information on top and right eye information below. The vertical resolution of each frame is decreased, but the horizontal resolution remains constant.
