    Default Chromebook Pixel?

    Hi Guys,

I'm tempted to purchase the Chromebook Pixel and load linux onto it for University and all the programming that I will be doing in my final year.

    Good or bad idea?

    P.S. I don't touch Apple products

Having used the cheapo samsung for the past year i would love to use one, but there's speculation of a newer version coming out and may be announced at the google I/O next month so for now i'm hanging on.

There have been new models around the £200 mark released recently but there are supposed to be more on the way as more PC manufacturers want a piece of the chromebook action. A common complaint is there are no mid-priced models somewhere between the pixel and the cheaper models, so i'm also waiting to see what comes from them in the next couple months.

I have a chrome book that I upgraded with an SSD, 8GB ram then core boot flashed it to run ubuntu - its nice.
Thing is I have a few laptops so as nice as it is I might flog it.

Oh I simply just have 2 many machines to make use of it.
Day to day I use a Macbook Pro Retina and a 27" iMac

Main thing the linux Chromebook was for was for running some security tools; but now got them working as a VM on my mac - so its just gathering dust.
