Archos Gamepad - google.process.gapps has stopped

Anyone had the 'google.process.gapps has stopped' error on their android tablet? I've got an Archos Gamepad and when I tried to plug in a mini HDMI it spazzed out and basically everything connected to Google comes up with this error and then eventually I get 'android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly'. It's practically unusable. Short of reflashing it does anyone have any ideas?

i had something similar on my phone
open any Google apps it would stop responding

The fix was Settings > All Apps > Google Services + Clear Data
