Default KitKat for ancient Galaxy S

Anyone here still using a Galaxy S? Kitkat (Android 4.4) is being ported (aka Cyanogenmod 11):

I installed on my Galaxy Note an OMNIROM from http://omnirom.org/ and it's working great!

S4 and kitkat ruined the phone!!! Was working ok apart from sponsious call out when I close the s-view cover after replying. And s-view goes half off the screen so only see 4:3 and rest is hidden out of view!

Battery was fine until today. Life goes flat very quickly!!! 4th time on chargd! Have 3 different leads so defintely not the lead! Bought new battery now so waiting for that to arrive and see if it drops fast on new battery. If it does then summats up with phone itself?

Can you clarify - you installed Cyanogenmod 11, or you installed your carrier's Kitkat update? Consider flashing back to stock?

OK well I would suggest checking out threads for the various custom ROMs available for the S4 on XDA forums and see what kind of experience they are giving the users before you take the plunge.

OR simply post about the problems you are having - there may be a solution that doesn't involve flashing a new ROM.
