Tom Tom G0 740 live help please

Hi peps

been given a go 740 which seems quiet out of date with maps cameras, is there a way I can update without coughing up yearly subs?

if so do you have a dummies guide please

Have a look at a few of the stickies in this section - there are a few different activation tools that will do the job for you.
Use Tomtom Home to get the latest official version of Navcore for your device, then use one of the tools to patch the ttsystem file. Next add a suitable map & then use the tool to activate it.

i did look at the stickys but with them being a few years old I didnt want to try them and brick the TT without asking first.

Everything is still pretty much the same apart from newer version numbers now.
