Default Selection of images from the BTCC - Oulton Park May 2014

Lots of shots taken, lots of shots binned. Even then some of those I've kept could have been binned .

Some decent shots, some kinda bad ones (but still ok for record shots). The Gallery for the rest of these is here: http://ipc.smugmug.com/Cars/BTCC-May-2014

No blur added in post processing for the panning shots, probably a little too much noise reduction on the Backgrounds but the motion is from the panning.

    What a beautiful machine!!!

Not my scene, but I can see they are all well taken, good focus, and plenty of impact with great signs of the speed involved.

    Plus hot hotties!

Cracking shots, like the classic escort...and Hollands A3 looks stunning. Its the Hill for me this year, sun screen, water proofs, hiking boots, never know what the weathers like up there.

Great shots Love the colour of the Audi. Been a touring car watcher since the days of council TV. Nothing better turning over on a sat to see it coming on. Love the side shots to (sorry don't know technical term for them)

Cheers all, it was the first opportunity to use the 100-400 in something like this although I found myself at around 200mm or less for most of it (would explain the large amount of 70-200mm L lenses there ).

Fortunately, one of my mates is a marshall so I get his free ticket.

Moonrat, the side shots are panning shots. You follow the movement of the car and as it passes in front of you on the exact parallel, you take the shot. Typically at a moderately slow shutter speed (I used 1/80th) so that you get the car sharp and the background blurred. It's not easly to do as you can see the shots all have a little but of OOF at one or the other end. I'm still rather pleased with the results though
