Help A galaxy far far away.....

    Esteemed DF'ers

Two months ago I upgraded my bulletproof galaxy S3 to a new shiny galaxy S5.

Over the weekend the main camera stopped working on the S5.. So I took it to the Samsung shop in Bradford (yes, bradford is a shit hole) and they tried a software fix.. but to no avail... so I have had to send my 2 month old phone back to the manufacturer for a HW fix and will not get it back for 7 to 14 days!..

No problem, I have a Galaxy 3 at home and i'll just stick my new sim in there.. Nooo.. As orange changed me from and Orange contact to an EE contract the sim doesn't work in the old phone!! the phone keeps asking me for a sim unlock code! I called EE and they can not help.. an unlock code would take 60.. yes 60 days and cost £20. CUNTS

My S3 is jailbroken and running a custom rom.. I am familiar with ODIN and recovery console..

Is there a quick way that I can unlock this phone to any network. I am lost without a phone.

    All help greatly appreciated.

    Freak

Most corner shops will unlock an S3 for about £5-£10 mate if you want to avoid faffing around.

    Thanks to flik

Sod that. Use GalaxySim Unlock from Spocky. Costs about £3 I think and can be paid via paypal/google wallet inapp purchase. Done it with my Mums S2 last week. Tells you before you pay if it can be unlocked and the price. Obviously. Used to be Free, but it was that good, he now profits from it... which I suppose is fair enough.

    S3 IS supported... Info Thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...tible-t1846451

PS. Apt title thread. Did make me giggle.

    Thanks to DejaVu

Back in business ! With an app to sim unlock your Galaxy S / S2 / S3 (and variants) (to use any other network operator).

A little background first. I bought my GS3 2 monthes ago. It was sim locked, but I didn't care as I read there was an app to unlock it. Unfortunately, what I didn't know at that time is that this method was not behaving the same way as official sim unlock method. And as you might know, sometime in July, starting from LG6 rom, Samsung added checks to prevent unofficial lock methods, that would relock your device upon each reboot. It looks like they recently did the same on GS2. So I took my favorite decompiler and started looking for a workaround. And here it is : "GalaxSim Unlock".

Odd seeing as he redesigned it for the GS3. Your's is a i9300 BTW.

    --edit
    • support international Galaxy S3 i9300 (Us qualcomm based GS3 are not supported at this time)
Sim Unlock your Samsung Galaxy device (s, s2, s3, s4, note, note2, tab...) with GalaxSim Unlock
Oh well. Market Stall jobby it is then.

    Thanks to DejaVu
