    Default Android Box XBMC

Thinking of selling on the old mede8er media player i have and going for something i might get a bit more use out of

So was thinking of getting one of these android box's that you can use to run xbmc, been googling a while and getting no closer, majority of these box's look very cheap which is making it difficult for me

Anyone use one, or recommend one that i can have a read up on

Have a MINIX x7, was a bit sluggish out of the box but flash a quick shot ROM on there and is not missed a beat plays everything I throw at it, was 80on eBay.
Agree the fire is supposed to be the best of the bunch now.

    The remote in that comes
with it is pretty useless though, I use yatse on my phone to control xbmc and a btooth keyboard for browsing.

I'm still pissing my pants about this http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Trons...ck-324676.html

Still no crashes and a fairly consistent 24fps even on 1080p movies. I've had some buffering issues but that's over wifi with a 1080p DTS-HD so a bandwidth issue really.

I got it from the link I posted, China somewhere. £75 plus some DHL customs fees. It's fannying around at 720p instead of 1080p at the moment but I'm too lazy to reboot it which will no doubt sort that and there's been a couple of firmware releases since which may have addressed it too.

The remote is pants. I'm still struggling to find the perfect one.

These things look quite nice. Do they run Plex, Netfllix and Amazon etc?

I've not tried any of those. I believe there were problems to do with video quality with the Netflix app on android apart from firetv and nexus devices. that could have changed by now though as updates move so fast.

Gomovies, gotv, ice films, mashup(can be flakey) 1channel all good for movies and tv. Amber skin works well on the android boxes looks decent and not too resource hungry either

    Hey,

Thanks for the heads up on the OUYA rom plugin for XBMC.
I have been using my OUYA solely for emulators and painstakingly downloading each rom onto the computer then puttin into a USB hard drive before plugging into OUYA.

Hopefully with Gotham installed I will bypass his now! Thanks again.
