    Default need help for script

im fed up of having to come down at night and switch the internet off because the kids are still on their phones at 2 am in the morning on a school nite.

Is there anway I could have a script that would turn my wifi off at a certain time or is this not possible ?
I know I can put the router etc on a timed plug but that would affect me watching films in bed

Any ideas - any at all.

I don't want to cut their access to the net - just kick them off at a reasonable time.I have a smart phone but for some reason im unable to log into my router though the ip address so I cant do it that way so end up getting out of bed and turning the whole thing off at the plug.

Do you have an old router, you could set that up to your existing router with a timer plug and they only get access to that router which would turn off at a reasonable time.

If it's a "super"hub you can set timed access rules in the ip filtering settings page.

most half decent routers have mac filtering and you can set on/off times for that mac

Some routers have a limit on the amount of mac addresses you can have set times for which means you may end up not having enough slots to cover phones, tablets, netbooks , laptops, desktops and even e-readers that they could use to access the web.

Hence my recommendation for using an old router on a timer.

Super hub seems to have quite a lot of access controls available.
