    Info generic china tablet (android)

I bought my son a generic android tablet from china for xmas just to see if he could get the hang of them, but its hanging on the android logo when loading.

is there any pc recovery app that anyone knows of, or can anyone help me find the correct key sequence to get to the recovery menu

its only got power and volume buttons and on searching the internet it was recommended trying volume up and power, but ive tried every single combination I can think of and still cannot get into recovery menu. I know its possible because when it first fucked up I managed to get into it but I cannot for the life of me remember how.

do you let it boot normally first or do you press certain keys from the start, do you keep them down for a set time?
if anyone can help id really appreciate it

    det

It's probs an ekan device , t01a , iv fixed about 50 of them withe same problem .

    http://www.mediafire.com/?xhv2j2ahghxgeqb
    recovery software ,
if you search you should find the firmware .
if not let me know .
To enter recovery , run the sware , select firmware file ,connect by USB , the device may power on , hold vol up and power ,till it powers off
keep holding vol up and tap the power key it'll you get the USB noise and it installs the recovery drivers .
and just follow the prompts on the sware .

It's meant to show an err in device man. I never installed any of the USB drivers .
i would reboot your system before following these instructions .
as I found I had to do this when the device wouldn't show
    Flashing Instructions:

Q: How to flash firmware (also known as a 'ROM') on the Eken T01 and T10 (and T01A)?
A: This is a fiddly process so some perseverance might be required. It will work in the end. From user reports it seems to work most smoothly on the 32bit version of Windows XP. Instructions:
    - Firmware must be flashed using a Windows application called Livesuit. Download it from the link below.
    - Once downloaded, and before attaching your tablet to your PC, run the file 'LiveSuitPack_version_1.09_20111101.exe' from within the Livesuit folder. This should install a new device on your system (VID_1f3a_PID_efe8). This device may show with an exclamation mark in Windows Device Manager, this doesn't matter and can be ignored.
    - Now download the firmware image you want to install. Firmwares are linked to in the downloads section to the left. After decompressing the archive you will end up with a .img file (e.g. 'sun4i_crane_t01a_0.8.1_20120224.img'). This is the firmware/ROM image that you are going to flash (or copy) to the tablet.
    - Without attaching your tablet to your PC run 'LiveSuit.exe' from within the Livesuit folder. You should get an application with 6 icons.
    - You will be asked if you want to be guided through the process, select no.
    - Click on the leftmost icon (a cube), browse to your downloaded firmware image, and select it.
    - Now attach your tablet to your PC by USB cable whilst holding down the volume+ button on the top. Straight after attaching the cable, and whilst still holding down the volume+ button, start pressing the tablet power button repeatedly. This (slightly frenzied) procedure puts the tablet into update mode.
    - After a few seconds you will be asked if you want to perform a forced firmware update. Select yes. You will be asked if you're sure. Select yes.
    - The update will start. You can release volume+ at this point.
    - The update should take approx 3 minutes to complete. You will see a % complete progress bar during the process and will get a dialog saying OK when it's done.
    - Turn your tablet on and you will have the new firmware.

good luck it can be fiddly ,when conected and powered off , hold down vol up just keep pressing rapid on the power button titll it shows up

    When you run the prog
    or the driver installer ?
    - 'LiveSuitPack_version_1.09_20111101.exe
    or livesuit.exe.
try uninstalling the USB Drivers from dev manager. , then run 'LiveSuitPack_version_1.09_20111101.exe
    again.
    then livesuit.exe

right, after playing about I can load the livesuite.exe, by pressing the volume + key then power button, the device then loads into the computer and im then able to start livesuite

following its guide, I press the power for 10 secs to turn it completely off
    then
if I click system upgrade its says "no device needs upgrade"
if I try wizard and follow the prompts it does not do anything and on the main app it says "jump to upgrade mode failed"

im wondering if it is windows 8?

I load up the prog ,with the firmware selected , with the device turned off , I hold vol up , then plug in the USB , and start tapping the power button until the program detects a device in recovery mode , if the device switches on when I plug in the USB , I hold both buttons to force power down , then keep holding vol up , then start taping the power button until the device is found .

you need to repeatedly press the power button , not just hold in

when I say vol up that's the the button next to the power button ,it might be down I'm not sure

I found that the prog can screw up , and not detect the device , unless you reboot
    or reinstall livesuit pack .
if your really struck pm me you eml and I'll fix it for you , your problem is your not getting it into recovery mode .
or the sware would open a prompt telling you your in forced recovery mode . You need to press the power key like mad for a good bit
iv got about 5 of them in a box I'll dig one out later and do you a vid if you like
