    Default Waterless Wash & Wax

Has anyone else tried using waterless wash & wax?

I bought some from Aldi last year and I've used it on my previous car and my new one. I think it's great. The first common sense thought is that it must just swirl the dirt all over the car and leave scratches. Well in my experience there's no cause for concern. I cleaned my new car with it on Wednesday and then it's so easy to spot clean any new bird crap that gets on the paintwork on subsequent days, I did it on Thursday evening in about three minutes as soon as I got home from work.

As far as I'm aware the product has a surfactant and a lubricant in it. When I first start wiping there is a little bit of resistance from the surface which goes completely after one pass. After cleaning a panel at a time (or whatever) there's a chalky residue like you get with a polymer resin polish. Buff this off with a tea towel and it leaves a silky feeling surface that water beads on.

Start at the top & work down (like a regular wash) and then use a separate cloth for the sills & wheels.

Couldn't be happier and I will use it for a few washes then use water, chamois and a nano wax.

Let me know what you think.

I use Greased Lightning waterless and it's excellent..

I now live in a flat where I can't run a hose to the car so it is just the job..

I too have that issue so I use the same stuff. It's great.
Trying to get other people to use it is hard though. They always seem to think it will scratch the paintwork , but I have had no issues

Same - that demon shine is ok too as a quick last stage polish but the greased lightening showroom shine has been the best I've seen. Probably coz of the carnauba wax used.

Ok so this was a quick photo out of the window yesterday. It's not going to win any photography prizes but you can maybe see the shine that I have got from the waterless wash & wax:

Ok well it seems I have to sign up a new tapatalk account to be able to put photos up now (thanks tapatalk).

How many washes do you get out of the bottle?

The one review on their website is quite critical -says its difficult to get rid of the residue. Anyone else have this problem?

I've used it three times and have about 2/3rds of a bottle left. I've also got a second bottle unused so far. The residue is just powder that you buff off, the only "problem" that I can think of is having to wipe panel edges which might mean opening the door or whatever momentarily. I wouldn't intentionally put it on rubber or black plastic trim but that's based on previous experience with Mer.

This is supposed to be really good stuff for cleaning UPVC too.
