Selling Faulty Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop

I know of 3 faults with this laptop:

Wont charge battery. I got a new battery from eBay and still had the same problem. When a battery is plugged in it shuts off after a random amount of time.

Couldn't load Win 7. I only tried once months ago and forgot the reason it failed but I suspected a hardware issue. Haven't even bothered to test DVD drive, regrease CPU and swap RAM so this could be an easy fix.

    2 small scratches/chips on screen.

Because I have been unable to load Windows I have not tested this laptop and is sold with no guarantee that any particular part is perfectly working.

Laptop comes with the new eBay battery, T4400 Dual Core @ 2.2GHz, 2x1Gb RAM, no hard drive or charger. It has the optional red top cover which has some scratches.

I took the laptop instead of payment on a job that should have cost £40 then paid about £15 for the battery.

I want £25 for it, any delivery/paypal fees to be added to this.

Thread open for 7 days until it goes on eBay.

You may need to amend the title carlover, you've got it as "wanted".

The battery you got, was it an original Dell replacement or dodgy Chinese copy? Without the Battery inserted does it stay powered on?
Any chance of some pictures of it?

(Fixed the prefix for this thread to For Sale).

    Thanks to DejaVu

Sorry I wasn't clear in first post - when battery (and charger) are plugged in it would turn off randomly. On PSU it only it would stay on. When you put charger in it would look like it was charging for a little bit then the charging LED would start flashing 2 different colours.

Battery is Chinese, will try it and take pics tomorrow.

@ overcarl, Pound to a pinch of shit, the battery won't charge because of the bios. If you roll it back to version A0 (I think), it will charge.
Had the same issue on a mini 10 notebook, with a third party battery and a bios downgrade fixed it

    Thanks to I Black Belt

    PM sent to riget.

Who knows, could be a BIOS issue. All I did with it was to try and start it and it crashed. HD tested as faulty so I put another one in and tried to load Win 7 once, that didn't work, so it's sat on a shelf for about 3-4 months since.
