Destiny Beta now out

A little earlier than planned, Destiny's beta is now available to download on Xbox One.

Bungie's sci-fi shooter was originally set to launch its Xbox One beta at 5pm today, but codes for the download became available last night.
The developer stated that it had finished its planned maintenance sooner than expected and would therefore grant Xbox One owners access sooner rather than later.
PlayStation 3 and 4 owners also benefited - beta servers for those platforms returned online at the same time.
The Destiny beta is open to anyone who pre-ordered the game. Redeem the code you received via Bungie.net and you'll receive three beta codes for the platform of your choice - enough for you and two of your mates.
Bungie has said that the Xbox One version is currently having some "party stabilisation errors" - it recommends restarting your console to fix the problem.

Loving this. It is very halo combined with kotor. Some of the battles are epic.

Rank up to 5 then goto the tower and speak to the crucible handler under the tower. That will open the crucible on the map screen.

I think it has a lot of halo in it in terms of presentation, sound and some combat but i think its a very different animal when it comes to gameplay.

I agree, I am a Halo fan so being like Halo won't bother me but I did find the combat a little more grown up if that makes sense and had my arse handed to me several times in the multiplayer and realised the 'loadouts' make a big difference, I still reserve judgments as I fear the game combat might become a little bit of a grind with having to hit an enemy 100 times to kill them rather than using a bit of imagination in the killing process.

The idea of a home hub to deploy from etc seems a new and good idea but as I say I will reserve judgment as I would want to see quite a bit more imaginative innovation in a full game version as it is it's ok but has a way to go to impress me.

Me and my son have been playing the crap out of the beta and we have both really enjoyed it. I'm a huge Halo fan though so that comes as no surprise.

I've also done my time on a few MMOs and this seems to have captured the good bits of both. Some of the side missions were repetitive but I still really enjoyed them. The community events were interesting and I'm looking forward to the full release now.

Just hope there's enough content in the full game to keep things interesting.
