Enjoying Potentilla, Sedum and "get off it's mine"
Enjoying the Potentilla
Relaxing on the Sedum. One thing I've noticed about these big Flesh flies is that they're very curious and often turn to face you directly.
Another one on the Potentilla
Orb Weaver with what's left of its dinner (after I accidentally broke one of its supporting web strands and it swung onto the fence)
Eupeodes corollae and a Bee on Potentilla plus an Inverted Wasp
The Potentilla is blooming very nicely at the moment attracting lots of bugs.
This bee likes it too
I considered a 180deg rotation but it didn't look right... besides, this was how the wasp was when I photographed it.
A little closer (non-crop)
Halyzia 16-guttata (16 spot Orange Ladybug/Bird)
First I've seen of one these LB's in my garden so I'm sure you'll not grudge me a few shots :wink
Where it was, was not an easy position to photograph it so I coaxed it onto my hand.
Withdrawing its head underneath the protection of its Pronotum gives it a rather sad face look.
