Things like this never make sense though, if you are going to shoot down a plane and blame someone else it'd be a lot less complicated to just do it than the scenario the articles authors have dreamt up.

Why would 'they' hijack one plane, substitute it for another and then shoot it down? Why not just shoot down the originally scheduled plane.
