Info EA subscription service on xbox one

Following the success of Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus, EA has unveiled its own Xbox One-exclusive subscription service dubbed EA Access. Those who spend $5 per month (or $30 per year) on an EA Access subscription will be granted free, all-you-can-play access to the publisher's biggest Xbox One games, including Battlefield 4, Peggle 2, FIFA 14 and Madden NFL 25. EA plans to add to this selection of games over time, and according to a Game Informer tweet, the publisher has "no plans" to remove content in the future. In addition to the gratis games, EA Access members receive 10 percent discounts on all of EA's digital Xbox One content and are granted access to big EA releases up to five days prior to their official debut.

Keep in mind, there are caveats to this promotion. EA describes that early access as a "a limited trial," and not access to the full game. Further, according to the fine print, Titanfall is "excluded from all EA Access features," and given the service's mention of unlimited online play, it stands to reason that an Xbox Live Gold subscription is required for full use of EA Access. If your interest is still piqued, you can find everything you need to enroll in EA Access at the program's official website.

Update: A representative from EA has contacted us to clarify the Xbox Live Gold requirements of EA Access. "To your inference in the last paragraph that an Xbox Live Gold subscription is required for full use, I wanted to clarify: Any Xbox One gamer can join EA Access and take advantage of the benefits of membership. In order to connect to multiplayer gameplay on the Xbox One platform you will need a subscription to Xbox Gold."

    £3.99 is the UK price.

Even if this just gives me access to Fifa 15 the price is still very cheap.

I'm a little concerned about some of the wording of the terms and conditions as I feel it is a little ambiguous about what games you get unlimited access to.

Why would you need 10% of buying a game if you have access to it via subscription?? I'm hoping I'm missing something. Got the invite but on hol. The dashboard app had nfs...I'd pay 4 quid to play it for a month

The only way this will ever work and people keep paying is if you get the new titles straight away on this. Whilst Fifa 14 is still the current release, what will happen in september? Will we get Fifa 15 included? Will it be the full version or a washed down version with no ultimate team for example? Or what about Battlefield Premium is that included or will you need to pay for that on top of the subscription?

If this is the case it will appeal to some but not the majority. If you do get the new releases then its great value for money, and could sway a lot of PS4 users over to X-Box One.

Sony declined this service as they didn't see its value to customers, Im hoping they are wrong on this and do a U-Turn very quickly on the decision if its as good as it potentially could be

    Cheers

EA say new games will be available 5 days before launch on the subscription.
It doesn't include any of the micro transactions such as premium but you do get a 10% discount. If you only buy one EA game a year it's worth it.

How did you all get the beta? Just signing up and waiting?
I agree with the if you buy one game a year it's worth it, especially as I wouldn't buy madden but it was included with this I would play it. Think they got the price point right here.

fucking hell guys, its $30 a year, the average game is $50 or $60+. Do you want an EA rep to nibble your ear as you play before you are content?

Does look to be a pretty good deal. I just signed up for the beta and paid £19.99 for 12 months.

I'll flog Battlefield 4 and Fifa 14 to recoup that, still play both titles and then see how it goes.

    Interesting move.

You won't be getting any new titles in this but just a % off the full retail price.

http://www.ea.com/eaaccess/ so limited time demos before a game is launched and then you can buy at a discount. Sounds good to me

seems the service is now live to all people.

box One-exclusive game subscription service EA Access will be live today, Microsoft has announced.
The service was put through a short beta test earlier this month, and from today gamers can pay to properly join through the EA Access app, which is available on Xbox Live.
According to the official Access site, users can sign up for NZ$7 a month or NZ$40 for a full year.
At launch, subscribers will have unfettered access to Battlefield 4, FIFA 14,Madden NFL 25, and Peggle 2, with more games planned added over time.
Access members also receive 10 percent off digital purchases, and can take new EA titles for a spin a full five days ahead of the retail launch.
“We’re really thrilled to be working with the Xbox team on this project,” said EA Access lead producer Michael Lewis.
“We think it’s a service gamers are really going to love, and the initial reception has been amazing.
“We drew inspiration from some of the great subscription services out there – I couldn’t live without Amazon Prime, Xbox Gold, and Netflix,” he added.
“We’re just at the beginning, but we hope with EA Access, we can start creating something as revolutionary as these services.”
Yesterday EA announced that games would not be removed from the Access Vault, and that they could even be played offline.
Sony declined to offer the service on its platforms, claiming that it wasn't good value.
