Help with Start Up Business Website

Good evening everyone,

I'm in the process of starting my business and I would like to have a decent looking website to sell my services.

I'm totally new to building websites but don't want to pay out money that I've not got at present to have one built.

The style and functionality I would like to get are the same as the sites detailed below, I know that the IOSH website probably has a whole team running it and would be outside of my budget and competent but it's along the lines of what I'm aiming for.

The second the site is probably more on the realistic side for what I can get but just wondering what what costs are involved and if it would be possible for me to build something along them lines.

I'm looking for the most cost effective solutions that are suitable for my requirements.

Why do you think IOSH is the more sophisticated website? Have you tried viewing both websites on your phone?

How do you want potential customers to view your business? If you have absolutely zero experience at building websites, why would you consider building your own? Your website is the face of your business and the first impression many potential customers will get.

1 in 3 businesses fail in the first 3 years of business. So, you have to give it the best chance of success you can. Building your own website, whether a one man band or not, is not the best start you could give your business.

If I wanted to do my own Health and Safety, what would you say?

Find yourself a web design company and get some quotes.

You are trying to get something for nothing (or at least on the cheap) on the strength of being a member here, it says joined 2007 on your profile but you effectively joined yesterday. Nobody is going to be able or willing to give you any meaningful advice for what you need, its not like advice on the best price of equipment.
You've already been offered good advice by CJ, either take that or prepare to spend good money for a talented designer.
