anyone had any experience with 3d printers?

im looking at buying a 3d printer for a small hobby and maybe small business, but I need something that will print out up to 25cmx25cmx25cm
I don't want to spend too much just in case it does not work what I want to do but can anyone recommend me something reasonably priced?
have you had any experience with them? are they easy to operate etc?

Seen a few on the china sites like aliexpress etc pretty cheap mate.

its the printing size tho m8, I need at least 25x25x25cm for what I want to print out.

The school my dad works at bought one and so far not produced anything to write home about mainly because the design tech head is trying to do it on the cheap. I know a guy who has one and he has been producing all sorts but I do believe he has invested in it both the hardware and the software.

I know maplin often have one pretty cheap but the print area is only 20x20x20

I was reading a discussing elsewhere (sorry I've forgotten where), but someone very clever was explaining why he went against the trend and purchased a low end milling machine instead.
