    Review Glorious Goodwood,s review

The highlights for my thoughts and bets was Intrinic (6/1) leading home a one-two in the Steward’s Cup, one of the most competitive races on the calendar. Richard Hannon’s Ninjago (10/1) ran on well but was no match for his rival.Barnet Fair got off to a flyer landing the 32Redsport.com Handicap at odds of 7/1. Dandy Nicholls’ six-year-old kept on strongly under Cam Hardie close home to hold off the challenge of the other selection Mission Approved (20/1).

In terms of ratings, the best race of the day was the Markel Insurance Nassau Stakes and it went the way of John Gosden’s Sultanina (11/2).it suggested that this filly might just improve past her rivals and that proved to the case as she landed a Group 1 on just her fourth career start.

As for selections on the rest of the card, King’s Fete (3/1) made late headway under James Doyle to finish second in the 2.40, but in the end was no match for the easy winner Double Bluff. Richard Hannon’s Lethal Legacy was disappointing in the Maiden at 4.25 but we finished the day well as 12/1 shot Flying Bear ran well to finish second and land the place money.

It is fair to say that Friday’s selections fared rather less well, although 7/1 shot J Wonder did manage to land the Group 3 Oak Tree Stakes. She got up in the dying strides under Jimmy Fortune to collar the other selection Muteela (7/4F) by a neck.

Pether’s Moon was our other winner on Friday and following the withdrawal of Hillstar, Richard Hannon’s colt went off the 11/10F. Other than that, we hit the post in the Betfred Mile as Heavy Metal (6/1) and Magic City (7/1) were beaten less than half a length between them in second and third. Whilst Moviesta (9/2) and Sunset Sail (9/2) could only manage a place on the podium in their respective races on day four.

The final two days meant that in total 11 winners were highlighted across the five days of the meeting as well as a host of placed horses
