Collembola Sminthuridae are water loving globular springtails.
I can get better than this one has turned out, as they are in the middle of the pond and I had to rest the camera with 3 tubes on it (and still crop) on a piece of wood laying across one side of the pond to the other... I feared for my 70D & the new L series 100mm lens - lest the whole damn thing slipped and went under water!
What was surprising, despite not being able to get it pin sharp, is how bloody EVIL the one on the right looks, and how the others seem to be legging it or about to leg it !!!!
Paul.
