Default Banks with online "Pending Transactions" function

Ive been with Santander for 8+ years now and for all that time their Pending transactions function in their online banking system has never worked.

Im looking to switch to a bank that has this option. I like to keep a track of my finances and to be able to see whats coming out etc, and to be able to tell the difference between my balance and available balance is a must for me.

Any of you lot bank with anyone who's online system has this function that works? Barclays?

Only seen this working on Capital One credit cards.
I have the function on Halifax current account but never use the debit card so can not say if it works.

My Natwest online banking shows what's in my account, against what I can withdraw, so I take the difference to be pending transactions. It doesn't however split them down into individual amounts - not that I've looked in truth.

The problem is that it needs the vendor to send the payment file to the bank. If you use your card in the shop the bank puts a maker on the account that XX amount has been approved and then it can take that shop a couple of days to actually send the file in to the bank.

My Barclays current account is exactly like this.

Correct.. the authorisation number issued when the purchase is made is good for four days so the shops system claims payment via that number..

Halifax has recently introduced this feature (within last few months) and it works very well, showing every pending transaction.

Lloyds do all that and it works well.
They also do monthly and yearly stats so you can see whats what if you so wish.

I'm with Metro Bank and I've found the function seems to work fine unless I purchase stuff using paypal. Those never show as a pending transaction, they just come out a few days later which often makes the feature totally useless for me.

Not sure if the same thing but I have recently moved from hsbc to first direct and assumed they would offer the same online experience . Not true , first direct do not offer something I think only hsbc seem to offer (pending transactions) I could see direct debits the day before leaving my account , damn I miss that feature .

+1 for Lloyds. Very happy with their service and they're constantly adding new features. I have a Club Lloyds account which gives a few extra benefits like better interest rates and 6 Vue cinema tickets per year. Their mobile app is really good too and has also had a recent revamp.
I only noticed their pending transactions service the other day so I think it is quite new, very useful and does make me think why this has taken so long for banks to adopt.

    Hi
I am with first direct and cannot fault them. They always come 1st or 2nd in any best bank survey, you can call them 24/7, I get a text message every morning to tell me what is coming in and going out. When people join on your recommendation they get £100 and u get £50 - I don't know why anybody uses any other bank tbh.

+1 for Lloyds. Been with them 18 years. Their online banking ALWAYS shows the right amounts. My son is with Santander and is just moving to Lloyds because of this very reason
