Help can anyone recommend the best macbook for using protools music software??

my lad goes to uni next year, and everyone uses the protools software. I'm told macs are the way forward when using this ( he uses them at college) so I'd like to buy him one for use now and when he goes away to uni.

can anyone offer advice on which is best?

2013 models yet to be confirmed as compatible

It's not too relevant which Macbook (within reason) the audio interface used is much more important, with Apple the signal is routed via the onboard sound (which is very high quality) but the Interface does all the work and ProTools is very demanding, don't buy a rubbish interface!
I have been using M Audio for years but they have really slowed down on driver development so avoid, RME seem to be keeping up these days, others are useful too but this choice is just barely secondary to choice of computer.

NB: Avid own M Audio now and since they have been in control driver development has gone out the window
    If at first you don't succeed.....redefine success. . . .

    Thanks to blaggard
