    Default iPod Touch 5th Gen.

Hi all, I found an iPod touch at the airport yesterday when traveling home to the UK. I wanted to give it to my son (to keep him off my phone) I've restored the device via DFU mode however its still liked to another Apple ID iCloud account. Is there anyway that I can remove this link?

    Many thanks,

    Devs.

also if a device is linked to account but not passcoded then you can remove it by following the link on apple support by resetting the apple password then removing device from findmyiphone and delete the apple id account

Heard stories of this happening in places like Crack Convertors too. People pawning their Apple gear, not paying and the gear then gets passed on to others who still cannot use it.
Apple seriously fucked up this time, IOS7 Security features are going to penalise more legitimate users than thieves with this.

Best course of action for a lost Apple device is the right one. Return it to Apple as a lost device so it can be reunited with its owner.
If the owner doesn't come forward for it within a set time, it should automatically become yours and Apple should wipe it (IMO).

    2 Thanks given to DejaVu

Thanks guys, thought that might have been the case.

Totally agree with this. That would be the best approach..

For completeness of the thread. After a little more research doulci.net seems to be able to bypass apples servers and should work for me... the servers down at the moment but if you google it you will see what this does and how it could help?

    Cheers,

I saw that website pop up in an article I was reading the other week. Apparently their servers are always down.
