    Default movie start times

i want to go to the cinema today and as i have not been for a while i am wondering about start times.

if a movie says say, 5pm start, what time does it actually start... reason i am asking is i would like to
see 2 movies while i am there so timing is the thing i am worried about.

one says it starts at 14:30 and is 128 mins long, the other starts at 16:40.. yeah, its close lol.

Why does "fat chance" and "slim chance" mean
    the same thing?

Trailers and adverts usually take up about 20 minutes but I cant remember if they are before the advertised start time or not. I have turned up last minute in the past and unfortunately I don't remember missing the crap you don't want to go see.

You should be fine just make sure you pay for both tickets before the first film and if they prebook seats get them booked for the 2nd film so you don't have problems finding seats together if your in a group

But some cinemas are worse than others it also depends on the film and time of the film. new big block buster at prime time will have more so possibly 30 minutes of crap but an old film at lunchime will probably have fewer.

never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups!

    Thanks to Little John

Start times include trailers in most cinemas so you can add 10 mins on to start time but if in doubt just give cinema an old fashioned phone call and ask if this is feasible and can even ask if they do discount for mutli-booking hehe

    Thanks to akimba

Went to see Inbetweeners the other week and the film started about 5 minutes after the stated start time.
