    Default Birmingham on Tuesday

    Hi guys

Heading to Birmingham tomorrow for a few nights with work.
Looking for somewhere to go for dinner and maybe a few beverages if anyone can recommend that would be grand.

Food wise I cook for a living and don't mind trying something different or new.
As for beverages as long as there is some form of cider or lager on draught.
Microbrewer or local brewer would be ideal

    Thanks in advance

I think you should take a trip into China Town matey.
Plenty there from the all you can eat range to the smaller, more traditional restaurants.
Just across the road is the Arcadian Centre. Plenty of bars/restaurants and totty lol.

Brindley place is nice too. - More upmarket feel - street cafe's/canal side bars etc.

Broad street is crammed with bars/clubs etc too .

    Thanks to I Black Belt

Chaophraya Thai restaurant in the Bullring. The foods great, staff are friendly and the glowing jellyfish in the giant tank are surreal.

Bank at Brindley place ain't bad for fodder, Birmingham isn't as grey as it used to be. Broad street is hectic. Have a good one.

The Wellington is a good real ale pub. The Old Joint Stock is a big airy pub/theatre. Bacchus is a decent underground place under the Burlington hotel. There are loads of places, I had a great all dayer round there a few months ago.

+1 for The Wellington. Excellent Ale, but surprisingly good draught lager as well.

Theres a pub called post office vaults on New St that has real ales and cider from Microbrewers, and a bar called the lost and found which is quite good for totty. Food wise the last resturant I went to that you didn't have to prebook was fleet street kitchen and I had a nice meal.

Another vote for the post office vaults.. You can take your own food in there also and they'll provide you with a plate and cutlery!

    Great beers on tap.

    Well guys
Went down did the work I needed to then on Tuesday night had a few jars in the hotel. Quiet night then start work early Wednesday.

Got off work earlier than expected. Hotel showered then out in the sunshine.
Started in a place called bodega was Mexican meets med style bar.
Had a good vibe then headed to The Mail Box. Mainly chain restaurants however had another few in a place called Miller and Carter. Slick service and pretty ladies to admire.
Headed along the Canal and hit the wether spoons then all bar one and the pitcher & piano.
All in a good crawl was had. Am back down again next month so will be looking for the post office vaults this time round.
