    Default HDMI Capture Card

I was always under the impression that in order to record through HDMI, I needed a HDFury and a whole load of messing about.
I've bought something on eBay and the seller is vague at best and said he's not even sure exactly how to use it.

Can anyone help ID this bit of kit before it shows up on my doorstep so I can research it. No real ID marks except the Logo on the large chip. I think it's a Chinese device.

The eBay image is this -

If you do need to get around HDCP with this one mate just get one of these:

They have the unintended side effect of outputting a signal with no HDCP - I got one for the father-in-law to use with an old TV with just a DVI input and Bluray etc all works fine even though the TV itself can't do HDCP.

    Thanks to reverend

Nice find pattikins. I reckon it's a generic device. I found another one that's exactly the same at Timeleak (HD72A)

    reverend! You scholar.
I was hoping to plug straight into the Sky box and offload all my recordings... with this, I reckon I could. We shall see.

Does this take a full 1080 input, and does it do record sound too?
What software are you going to use to do the recordings?

Please post your impressions, interested in getting one myself if it works well enough.
