Default Plex Pass Price Increase 29th September

Plex Lifetime Pass doubles in price come 29th September.
If you were planning to get it, get it now.

Upcoming price increase for NEW Plex Pass subscriptions

First, we want to thank all of you for the support and loyalty you have given us over the last few years. We truly have the most amazing and passionate community of media lovers on the planet, and it makes our job an absolute joy. If you already have a Plex Pass, rejoice! To show appreciation for your loyalty, the price of your subscription is not increasing (and if you were thinking about upgrading, now is the time). If you don’t have a Plex Pass, this is your last chance to subscribe at current rates.

We’re working harder than ever to bring more Plex goodness to all your favorite devices, and we’re super excited about the things we’re working on and can’t wait to share them with you over the next few months! With premium features and content, sometimes come moderate cost increases. So on September 29, 2014 we’ll be making some changes to our Plex Pass subscription rates for new subscribers:

    • Monthly Plex Pass subscriptions will increase from $3.99 to $4.99 per month.
    • Annual Plex Pass subscriptions will increase from $29.99 to $39.99 per year.
    • Lifetime Plex Passes will increase from $74.99 to $149.99.

For all of you Paypal subscribers, we now have support for recurring monthly and annual Paypal subscriptions. We’re also making it easy to view your billing summary by providing full transaction history and receipts.
Again, please note that these new rates will only affect new subscriptions moving forward. Of course, as we’ve mentioned in the past, we may need to charge separately for certain types of premium content, and we may need to adjust Plex Pass prices again in the future.

Thanks again for all of your support and keep an eye out for more new exciting releases coming very soon!

Can monitor who's watching what and you also get all the new features a lot earlier. There are a list of a load of features Passers get. I don't usually pay for anything online, but this appealed to me.

Looking at plex pass it looks like it can sync your photos to the server and you can view your media remotely. Can't you already view media remotely without plex pass?

Do you mean Cloud Sync? You can upload media to Google Drive or most other Online storage providers and continue watching even if your Server is offline or unavailable - it's transcoded and uploaded to format Plex Clients all prefer.

Viewing your media remotely is the main feature of Plex and can be done by the Server owner and people you share with.

Viewing what they are watching is only available with Plex Pass.

Trying to work out if it is worth it for me, I only use Plex for IPTV as I prefer XBMC when at home. Might be handy to have Plex if I can stream it to anywhere though.

Got mine yesterday and must admit I'm glad I did.
Already hammered all my photos onto it and my iphone suddenly has an extra 6.5GB of space

I'm exactly the same.. I don't need any Pass features especially until I can get fibre as my upload speed means watching anything anywhere else is pointless.

Just log on to the plex app from your iOS device and the option should come up automatically.
Failing that it's in the settings section under camera upload

I get what your saying but with Pass you can sync files to your device to watch offline.
Also with the pass about to double is it not worth taking the leap just now??

Bugger - I was walking round at the weekend and had a thought that the reason for the price increase was the expected Xbox client release.

Guess what was released today and needs a plexpass subscription............................ Doh !
