    Default Family holidays?

I have never done one as an adult, always done crazy expensive road trips in the US just turning up at a hotel after driving a bit totally un planned, one trip we should have headed to Atlanta from the coast but decide to take a detour and went to Orlando and spent 2 days doing Disney and universal an 11 hour drive LOL we still had to get to Atlanta after as our flight was from there.

So now I have a family well the GF has 2 kids 12 and 15 and we have our daughter who is only 3 months old at the moment we are looking at going away next year I fear that I will hate the whole 2 weeks by a pool or on the beach I hate sand to start with but that's what they want with a decent water park and a few things to do.

So I am looking for suggestions probably somewhere European not to long on a plane as GF doesn't like flying blah blah blah
Somewhere that if I hire a car I can go see something of interest or maybe take photos
A water park and possibly theme park gives us something other than a beach or pool day
No where I will get shot at or blown up so no war zones please

    Butlins in minehead

    somewhere European
    (uk is in Europe)
not to long on a plane (wont need one)
Somewhere that if I hire a car I can go see something of interest (nice caves and a castle not to far away)
A water park and possibly theme park gives us something other than a beach or pool day (side of a beach, as a small fun fair, the pool has slides, bars for drinking, free shows and activity's)
No where I will get shot at or blown up so no war zones please (not a war zone)
Think that ticks all your boxes

    South of france is lovely.
plenty of idyllic beaches and small villages steeped in history
hire a villa or a gite with a pool.
    beautiful
further south you go, warmer it is

    Thanks to I Black Belt

I should have also added that they want somewhere warm/hot and not Butlins

Marmaris Turkey, cheap as hell to eat out and more excursions than you get fit in 14 days, re: scuba diving for me 17yr old daughter mrs and 9yr old full day 2 dives each and dinner £25 all in

going again next Aug cant get enough of the place, we also go swimming with dolphins but thats the most expensive work out with photos and video around £200 for us to have 20 mins family swim with them

check out Club Anastasia one of the best hotels in Marmaris all good reviews on travel guides too

    Thanks to consoles

2nd marmeris I am in Mexico right now and the trips run about £100 for the pair of us.... You can get a weeks worth of activities for that in Turkey ...jeep safaris all day with food about 10-15 boat trips food and drink the same look into all inclusive for the extra 50 to 100 pound it's well worth it just for the drinks and soft drinks ice cream and you can still go out and buy a nice family meal for around £50

did get this in Mexico tho
