    Wanted Wedding Photographer

    Hi guys,

Probably in the wrong section but here goes, does anyone know any good reasonably priced wedding photographers in the Manchester area.

    Thanks

What's your budget pal. Two of friends do it and are outstanding but you pay for it. £1k plus

To be honest I have no idea of the cost, I have seen everything from 350 up to 3k

Just looking for the images don't need a book!

These are two I recommend highly.

First one is currently based on London but is in Manchester 2-3 times a month for shoots.

Second is someone who was recommended to us by our friend above, she's already done our wedding and was fantastic. Offers packages to suit from £1k.

I would chuck in a few suggestions for you, I know most of them and have worked with them in the past

    Phil Oldham http://www.purpleclouds.co.uk/
A great photographer, both commercial, sports and weddings, very creative and really knows what he is doing. Has worked for some huge companies with some very big names in the world of football totally unrelated but he does what I would love to do. does a full package with disk of images for one price

    Alison Bailey http://alisonbaileyphotography.co.uk
A great wedding photographer and very consistent in her work and she is a really nice person to get along with. offers a more pick and choose pricing strategy pay for your photos to be taken then decide how you want them presented separately about £700 for shooting then £400 for disk of images still works out similar to the package Phil and most others offer.

    Simon Harding http://www.simonh.co.uk
Same as Alison really, they both work together a lot especially when shooting weddings so if you hire Alison you may get Simon as well. Simon is similar pricing to Alison

    Simon Kearsley http://www.creative-camera.org
A personal friend and yeah he is good, his prices are more reasonable which is rare as the cheaper ones tend to be a bit pants not sure on his cost of images on disk/usb (I know he has some nice USB drives that we both bought together)

    Simon Revill https://www.simonrevill.com/
At the other end who I admire for his work, (I haven't worked with this guy) but I do like what he produces he doesn't advertise that he covers the Manchester area but he will travel so worth getting in touch he used to charge quite a lot more than what he shows on his website, I always said I would use him if I could afford him but his offer prices are very affordable now.

It all depends what you like make sure you like what they produce and don't go based on price

If you want an idea of what to avoid look at Look at me photography (Louise Ogden) she is all over facebook and her pages change weekly as she avoids people having a go at her for poor work but this is her wedding page she has actually improved, I will never forget the image of a bride on the toilet with her dress hiked up and yes she did 3 versions of it colour, black and white and colour popped which she does for every image she takes. your lucky if you get photos in focus and its fun to watch a wedding photographer who charges for her work to use live view for every photo she takes. Yes I'm getting bitchy, i was helping a friend set up a wedding venue and she was the photographer dressed in jeans and a tshirt using live view. I also saw her while I was shooting a football tournament at the Reebok she was shooting a wedding party near the tunnels with live view again in her bestest jeans and off white tshirt

    THIS.

A £300 photography package always looks like this. Someone buys a low-mid range SLR and shoots on auto. I know someone that is doing particuarly well doing this and now charges the grand. Terrible.

While agree its best to look at repertoire rather than price, sticking to the £1000 mark is a good guideline.

Also, alot of wedding photographers are more than willing to travel, so it may be worth looking further afield.

    How do...

I am a wedding photographer as well.

I work with Alison and Simon mentioned above.

Give me a shout if you like. I am only in Huddersfield.

I actually shot Ant3b's wedding and SimonH came and seconded me that day...
