Metro Manilla - quality Filipino film from 2013 - 8/10 - crime film I think it won best film at cannes or similar film festival

Snowpiercer - decent scifi film from 2013 which totally slipped under my radar - 7/10

+1 for Snowpiercer - thought this film was fantastic. All about a global ice age which wipes out most of the population. The survivors board a train which travels the globe non stop. A class system evolves with the very poor in the rear carriages in crowded and unhygienic conditions, as you move forward the rooms become more spacious, food is better etc. Its all about the rebellion and the lower classes attempting to take the train. Fantastic viewing.

I watched The Firm (Gary Oldman) last night, now years ago i would have rated it 8/10 but if it was my first time of watching it would have been a 6 but thats based on other hooligan films that have been out since then. "Ow come on"

Point being that some films can hold a good score no matter the age were as some cant, the 2 lads arguing over The Godfather films need to remember we all have different tastes and opinions so why get pissed off when some one either over or under scores something, I just pray you don't read some of the reviews on IMDB. I would give GF1 & GF2 9/10 but GF3 7/10, great films but 3 spoilt what could of been the my personal best trilogy but I prefer The Matrix and LOTR over it now.

This all coming from someone who loved Her!!!

Film for the weekend is The Hooligan Factory or Sex Tape, not looking forward to either as they both look shite!

Haven't watched a good film in ages. The last film I actually really liked was End of Watch... And I watch a lot of films. Admittedly, I haven't seen Guardians Of The Galaxy yet.

But.. what do I know. I consider The Godfather Part 2 as the best film ever made.

Honestly I couldn't get on with the Godfather movies. I've tried several times and they just aren't for me

Back on topic, I really enjoyed Edge of Tomorrow, much more than I expected to. 8/10

A recentish movie that I don't think has had the recognition it deserves is Ender's Game. 8/10

I saw the Abyss mentioned above. I used to adore that film but I just don't enjoy it anymore. No idea why, it just doesn't thrill me like it did.

Will definitely look up Snowpiercer, that looks right up my street.

Just watched the Equalizer - decent enough Denzel Washington film worth a watch 7.5/10

Love Denzel I randomly met him in San Sebastian last month - he was at their film festival getting some award

Also watched A Walk Among the Tombstones. Pretty good but will be a one watch film only. 6/10

Just finished watching Snowpiercer due to Prezzy and Gooses (Geeses?) posts and can only give it a 6! I didn't mind it and quite liked the idea but that fucking idiot bitch with the bucked false teeth done my nut in! The storyline was ok and had me guessing what the end would be.

One thing I still dont get is
    Spoiler:
Why the fuck the little lad climbed into the circular thing that came out of the engine near the end

There were a few other niggly things that i didn't like but one weird line was
    Spoiler:
    Babies taste the nicest
    WTF!

Just watched the new Nicholas Cage film 'Left behind' oh man where do i start? it's the biggest pile of crap i've ever seen taking over from Eraserhead as the worst film i've ever seen, the plot is quite good a bit like the tv series 'The leftovers' but the acting, special effects etc are just comical, 0/10

1 hour 45 mins i'll never get back, fuck you Cage for agreeing to make this steaming pile of cack!

Just watched "The judge" with robert downey Jnr and really liked it - I love court room dramas though so it gets 8/10 from me
also just watched "Stonehurst Asylum" which has a decent cast (ben kingsley, michael caine, jim sturgess) but the story has a few loopholes so only 6/10

    for older movies...

    Inception - 10/10
curious case of Benjamin Button 9/10
Gravity - 9/10 - sounds excellent excellent if you have a decent audio setup
    World War Z 8/10
    Blood Diamond 8/10
The rover - 6/10 - was disappointed by this as it looked gr8 on the trailers
Guest house Paradiso 9/10 - never get tired of watching it

And to those who enjoyed "Snowpiercer" - shame on you it was a bag of wank.

Last week watched : House of the Dead 2 - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0435665/?ref_=nv_sr_2

Wish I had seen it's 3.9 score on imdb first. Would give it a ZERO.

Just watched the new Hercules film. But cheesy and not much of a storyline but good to kill away a few hours entertainment.
