    Help Quick response needed.....

Im saving up for a new laptop, and this is the one I had in mind....

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

but this one had just appeared on Very, not the model i was after but £800 cheaper, I have an account with them and can buy now and spread the payment after 1 years no interest. - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Main differences being it has the GTX 860M as opposed to the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M, and the processor is the Intel Core i7 (4th Gen) 4710HQ as opposed to the 4860HQ in the more expensive model. Not worried about ram or HD as this can all be upgraded later.

Need to make a decision on this tonight as im offshore on Monday and i want this delivered before I go which they can do apparently.

    thoughts?

I'd go for the cheaper one. It's still a decent gaming rig by the looks of it.

Ok it's half the ram and half the HDD but 12gb ram and 750gb hdd is more than adequate.

No blu ray player and as you say slightly lower spec processor.

just had a look at the benchmarks and the processors are almost identical. not fussed about a bluray player as i download most of my movies anyway, and ram and hd i will upgrade in the future :-)

just spoke to the missus and she has gave me the go ahead based on you guy's opinions lol!

lets say you already owned the cheaper one, and someone said they could add more ram, bit bigger hard drive and a blueray rom for £800 .. what would you say to them lol.

get the cheaper one now as £800 is a lot of money for a laptop let alone a slight upgrade.

Why does "fat chance" and "slim chance" mean
    the same thing?

I'm surprised that you're not looking at the GTX 970m laptops...quicker than a GTX 880M & almost as cheap as the GTX 860M

    Spoilt Bitch.

The one on Very is a great price. You are not gaining an extra £800's worth of laptop by getting the one on Lappy Direct (IMO).
Save yourself £800 and buy a NAS with shit tons of space with it!

Saying that, if it's gaming system you're after, forget the laptop and get yourself a desktop.
I find high end laptops suffer with heat problems. The more things in there to get hot, will.
