Tefal Actifry Low Fat Fryer - 1 kg - Black

I've had this fryer in my shopping basket on Amazon for over a week now waiting for a price drop. It has held steady at £119.99 at its cheapest. Even Flubit couldn't help me to purchase it at a lower price; £119.60.

According to Amazon its over £100 off!

Checked a minute ago and saw it in my wishlist for £99.99 so immediately purchased one. What a bargain!!

i got mine from Costco about 4 years ago for £70 they even replaced it for me last year when it popped.
apparently Costco give lifetime guarantee on all electrical items which I never knew!

The father-in-law loves his. I am tempted but the footprint of it is just too big! Lack of kitchen worktop space and cupboard space to store it means we have to miss out.
Shame as the chips he does are bloody lovely and I would love to have one.

Are they cost efficient to run? He keeps threatening to buy us one because we apparently 'need it'. I am sure if people can sell it to me then the wife could be convinced. Problem is we would have to leave it out on show.

last time i used one of these things it took about 45 mins to make chips , they any better these days ?

if im having chips now i try to have slimming world ones made in oven and they only take 30 mins and taste great so it would need to be quicker than that

+1 for SW chips & skin on Wedges.

2 mins in the microwave and 25 mins in the oven. Lovely every time, not a drop of oil in sight!


Actifry looks good, but I reckon the suck leccy like anything, and often useless when making chips for 4-5+ people or roasties etc.

Heads up that from 8:00 today Amazon are selling the Philips HD9220/20 Airfry cheap in a lightning deal. It's currently £99 and history suggests it will be about £70, but until 8:00 we won't know.

I'm considering it but will be on the way to work at that point... Usually this stuff sells out fast.

One of the reasons for considering is because last night we made burgers and the house stinks from the cooking. These were taste the difference frozen burgers and grilling them was a nightmare!

I've owned the Philips one since the first Tefal came out, I think the Philips is better. . .it won the taste test on the Gadget Show though they weren't very well coloured . . . .this was because they used it wrongly, you're supposed to toss the chips in a Tablespoon of oil but they just poured it in, this would mean that the potatoes didn't come into contact with the oil and the oil would burn. . . .but STILL tasted better.

Proper chips take a bit longer but Oven Chips are quicker and taste better, Sainsbury's have some new 'Chunky' chips (chilled not frozen) and they are cracking!

If you have an actifryer I have an amazing tip for you.
dont buy name branded chips like McCain.

Use the own store brand chips like tesco sainsburys and morrisons etc
they are so much nicer than the more expensive brands but only in the actifryer

I love my Actifry, its been in heavy use since we got it a few years back. Mostly sausages are cooked in it and they come out really well, but I also make chips in it, more specificaly pepper chips, paprika chips, salt and chilli chips, just by adding in some ground black pepper or whatever into the oil before adding it to the chips at the start of cooking.
