iphone 4 lock button

i was reading that the 4 & s4 have a problem with the lock button, my daughters has buggered up
she is using an app to lock/unlock screen
is it an easy fix or is it not worth bothering

It's pretty fiddly to replace the power flex as it also requires replacing the volume buttons and mute switch. If you take your time and have a time out whenever you get frustrated you will get there. If not a repair should cost you £25-35 from a shop.
