What's the average cost to replace iphone 5s screen?

Hi guys,

I've been asked to replace a 5s screen for a friend of a friend, i've done them before but don't have a clue what the people / independent phone shops charge for this service bearing in mind the screens are £20 odd quid.

What's the going rate for doing this?

I no longer buy any of the £20 panels or cheap ebay panels as I had a few come back within a day cracked again and the owners swore blind there was no big impact on them so I concluded the quality of the panels was mainly to blame as I have had some of these cheap panels crack when opening phones to repair other components. I now have a supplier who seems to offer a genuinely better product and in the rare instances that the screens haven't been perfect (dim screen) they swapped them no questions asked. It's a trade supplier though so no good for buying the occasional screen and even in small bulk they set me back £30-35 after courier.

I tend to charge £55-60 now, I give out two quotes to show I'm not charging more to use the same part as the local market stalls and I explain I can order in the cheap panels if requested but I don't stock them. I have found it impossible to compete on both quality and price so I just focus on quality now as those who just want everything doing at the cheapest price possible cause loads more hassle in the future.

Yeah, this guy wants cheap as poss. hence why the £20 screen. I've seen them crack too, usually across the top near the speaker.

I did one 2 weeks ago for my daughter using a screwmat. Big respect for you guys doing this. Unbelievably difficult with different sized screws and fiddly breakable bits. Took me 1 1/2 hours due to fingers like sausages.
