Well I thought this would be a nice forum to ask if anyone knows a nice DOCSIS3.0 modem that isn't dumbed down for people that would call their ISP and ask why the send and recv LEDs are blinking. (Everyone here seems to know what the best modems are.) One of the best features of my modem was that the LEDs would only light up when there was activity, thus I could therefore see when my PC was using the internet due to background services, or if someone was stealing my wifi. I've looked at as many modems as I could find and they all have upstream and downstream LEDs that stay lit when the service is available....However I've read through the rules of the forum and see that questions from new people that most likely won't stay aren't welcome. I'd like to say you have a lovely forum here and hope it doesn't die out! (: I might stay for a while if there's a way to monitor activity just by putting a set of LEDs in between the modem and the Client and report my progress.About being a leecher, to my knowledge of leeches, they feed on you while benefiting you at the same time. Isn't that supposed to be good? I suppose that posts like these are good by bringing a bit of activity from long time members.P.S. I'm from Ontario.

If my memory serves me correct, I was happily a member for a year before becoming a VIP.

The VIP system allows the forum to give something back to those that have financially helped keep the place running (notice the lack of ads?). There are plenty of long standing members who are not VIP's who have helped others and have received plenty of help in return.


So now you mention your experience with malware and speeding up windows which leads me to believe you probably are reasonably familiar with various aspects of modern PC's and windows.

Why not find active threads to contribute to, or even create a thread or two with some tips or guides.

Doing this you will probably find you can quickly build up some quality posts and thanks, then I am sure members will want to help you.

I'm glad you enjoy my moaning.I must apologize, when I originally came upon this forum from a search engine, I thought it was only about cable modems ... tvs... etc. I found the interesting networking sections and there is so much great information! I feel embarassed by my previous comments now. Yes I see the VIP section is not entirely pay to win. Wankers made me laugh hehe.I love that the admins of this site don't host hidden trackers (beacons) on here. That's really great.
