iphone 4s sim activation problem

missus has just upgraded and she had a 4s which we decided to sell on

this phone used to be unlocked and about 15 months ago she got it exchanged at an apple store

its been updated to ios 8 and I sold it yesterday presuming it was still unlocked im now getting this message

the Sim card that you currently have installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server.

now im a bit stumped as I thought its unlocked but now im not sure what network its locked too

3 and 02 don't work

hmm just borrowed a orange sim and that works so looks like its locked to t mobile,ee and orange

we took in an unlocked phone and got swapped out a locked one I think

hmm whats even stranger is with my 3 sim in I can see its got a full signal on 3g even though its saying the sim card is not supported

Tell Apple, if it was bought from them direct it should be unlocked, stands to reason the replacement should be the same.

Just come off chat with Apple it's definitely locked to t mobile

Billy bonus where I have been with t mobile so long they have waived the unlocking fee. Happy days
