    Default HDMI source to multiple tablets?

    I have been asked to come up with a solution to this problem, replacing a bunch of tiny format PC's and monitors on each desk with something more modern, my thought is to replace these pc's with tablets.

    OK so we have a source that outputs a random stream that is constantly updated via HDMI it is something that streams from the web and is normally sent to TV's on the wall sort of advertising/offers. so wee cant rip it and play it on each device.

    We would also like it to stream to a bunch of tablets placed on desks again advertising preferable some inexpensive tablets but not too bothered windows or Android preferred.

    so any suggestions?

    Thanks

    So what your after is a way to advertise something on devices when they are not in use?

    I'd probably suggest looking into a network streaming screensaver app instead.

    Something like this might be an option -

    If you can create a live stream on a server somewhere on the same network and point the URL to it, they should all be 'in-sync'.

    Sort of The tablets will be free all the time running in kiosk mode if they are windows tablets so the adverts will be on show all the time.

    The problem is that the content is not available to us direct as a video file it is sent to a HDMI port for connection to TV's and we want to get it on the tablets so that is the issue I need to solve at the moment.

    (the old system of tiny pc's has been made unavailable hence the need for a modern solution.

    Sounds like you'll need a device to capture the HDMI (HDMI capture card in a PC?), convert and re-stream in a method suitable for the tablets. Is this then going to be wirelessly streamed as I guess this will run up against some limitations of the wireless network capabilities assuming the source and required output is HD?

    Starting ideas...

    How about instead of using Tablets, get screens again and turn them into Computers/Tablets??

    Just been reading baout these things (can get them off Aliexpress) seem like really cool little devices;
