Default Recent Samsung S6 OTA Updates Killed Phone

My missus has an unrooted SGS6.

It's had loads of updates recently, which I figured were getting ready to upgrade over to Marshmallow.

GSam now explains its going to take 25hrs to fully charge and when the screen goes off, the signal drops out and emergency calls only until rebooting.

Anyone else currently have the same shit with their SGS6 or Edge?

Not got that problem here mate, might be worth doing a factory reset with Kies. What charger is she using? Could be a hardware fault?

Not those issues, but latest updates did seem to install nearly 1GB of word products!

Using original charger and lead. Her phone has been on charge since this morning and hit 50% about an hour ago.

Gonna install Kies, backup everything and see if I can sort it out with a factory reset.

Have you got another charger you could try mate? How old is it as maybe the battery or charging circuit is hosed?)

I just changed mine from Hungarian to the UK firmware last week so didn't realise that Office stuff was so new!

My Mrs managed to drop her S6 edge down the loo last night and whilst it has come back up operational, its lost the use of the fingerprint scanner and doesn't see to recognize the sim is inserted.

We didn't take insurance on it as she'd previously been mega protective of her phone (facebook nerd) so dunno what else to try and do.

Don't think this is related to any update but she isn't pleased that she has lost it - any have any ideas and apologies for thread hi-jacking.

Battery out, phone in a sealed bag of rice in airing cupboard/boiler cupboard. Leave it alone a few days. Should have been the first thing you did tbh m8

We were out mate at kids presentation awards so only just back now - phone is in airing cupboard now but not in rice - will give that a try.

    Thanks mate.

Best bet. Sorry, you can't remove the batt on an S6 can you. Just turning it off to prevent further damage to components then.
The rice (in a sealed bag) will draw the moisture from the handset. A more robust move is a board clean, but I think if it was dropped in a clean loo you might be OK. If it had some cleaning block water in it, or urine then there could be complications down the line.
    Good luck with it anyway.

    Thanks to Zoots

Thanks matey - has been sat in a bag of rice in the airing cupboard. Touch wood that pulls the moisture out as the phone seemed to be working fully bar the fingerprint sensor and the sim. However the sim did feel a little bit damp so touch wood it is ok after a nite in there.
