    Advice VPN Providers?

    Hi Guys,

I notice a lot of df members are starting to discuss VPN providers. So I want to know who of you use a VPN? Why you use a VPN? What provider do you use?

I'm looking to invest in a VPN.

    Thanks

I use SSL as well but want another layer of protection that doesn't involve complete disconnection lol

Yeah if I don't use ssl for some reason my 150mbit connection drops to about 1mbit. Wonder why that is.

They emailed me an other the other day, hence the thread my concern is selling off/revealing my data.

I recently started with private Internet access after researching heavily, I just wanted to see what the hype was about and the app which manages the connections is very simple and you can select a server from most places in the world to view get restricted websites as an alternative to hola.

They'll have QoS or packet inspection going on to throttle the traffic. Even SSL can be decrypted and repackaged with another cert if they wanted too but we'll probably see speeds start to slow down big time when that happens!

yep that why never bothered with anymore than that, I've never been throttled on zen or sky in 10 years using newsgroups and SSL the last 4-5 years as you say if they really wanted to the could decrypt it all but im not a heavy user no more than 100gb a month, was reading other week uk avg is now around 60gb , sure if i could get anything faster than the speed below id probably download more

does seem to me that it throttling seems to hit torrent users more ?

I use Slick VPN, it's in association with my news provider but I got both for a ridiculous lifetime price years ago.

My reasoning is to connect to USA netflix etc. without having to use something shitty like Hola or going through hassle on every device.

Look at private internet access you get 5 connections with them, was a factor in signing with them for another year for me

    Thanks to Nathz29

I'm trying to get my head round how this works. I have a sr102 router and the firmware doesn't support VPN.

I also would love to check out an option for VPN traffic. I am looking for a reliable one in Europe though so I can grab stream some football matches back to the states and get around location check.
