I would probably suggest replacing your PC with something a little more upto date if its a viable option.

However, the Spec of your system should really be able to handle steaming of videos, so I suspect you may have more of an issue like software or OS.

I am going to take a stab in the dark and ask if the system is still running on Windows Vista. If so, that would explain the issues you have mentioned.

Windows 7 is far more superior. If you are on Windows 7, it maybe the amount of things running in the background causing problems with streaming.

I have a couple of PC's with a lot less spec - like my Acer Revo - that streams 1080p HD with 5.1 DTS flawlessly.

    Thanks to DejaVu

The nvidia geforce 6200se, if I remember right, uses the first version of PureVideo HD - which still left the cpu a lot of work. The e2200 probably can't take the strain (i.e., running @ 100%). An HD 5450 or equivalent should do the trick.

You`d best get a new pc matey. as all the stuff inside the pc is a little out of date and as said above get one that has windows 7 on.

How much are you looking to spend ?

Most Pcs now come with around 4 gig and use the i3-i7 generations of CPUs. Any Nvidia GTX 500 series or above will be the starting point for graphix as you wont be playing games as you say. Ill see what I can find

seems cheap but has built in graphix. This still would run HD

you should really find the root of the problem, a PC like that shouldn't have big issues with streaming HD, I had a HTPC running 720p based around an Athlon 64.

Could it just be your internet connection?

    According to wikipedia:

'On the low-end of GeForce 6 series (6200), PureVideo was limited to standard-definition content (720×576). The mainstream and high-end of the GeForce 6 series was split between older products (6800 GT) which did not accelerate H.264/VC-1 at all, and newer products (6600 GT) with added VC-1/H.264 offloading capability.'

In other words, the 6200 se doesn't support 720p (let alone 1080i/1080p) & a weak version of the original Conroe processor has to do all the work.

    Thanks to pattikins
