Question What to do with old sky boxes

Hey guys, We've just transferred from Sky to Virgin, and Sky havn't came to collect the old boxes, (1hd, 1Sky+ and 1 normal), do they normally leave these or do we have to return them? If they leave them is there anything we can do with them or just check them?

    Thanks in advance.

As long as you have run the whole contract then the box belongs to you.
if it's a sky+ box then I rip out the hdd and bin the rest as even on eBay they don't often go for much!

I take my old sky boxes into my garden pee on them and then set them alight with fire and stuff then smash them up with my hammer - is what they deserve

Cancelled my sub a couple of months back hoping to get a cracking retention deal. Didn't work and thought I'd bin the box and get a Youview box. TBH the only thing the box was being used for was recording the wife's stuff.
Fortunately, I still had the old blue card. Popped that in and the EPG and recording functions work.

Is that a known thing to work then?

Think I read somewhere (even possibly here on DF) it worked for Pace boxes back in the day so thought I'd give it a try on my Amstrad.
    Worked for me.

You can still use them for FTA channels, although you won't be able to record. If you still have your white viewing card, you can get a few more FTV channels like Motors TV, Liverpool FC TV & Sony TV.

Isn't that now on the comedy channel?
