    Default Modem recommendation

Could anyone recommend me a new modem to replace my technicolor-582n that I got with my fibre?

Ideally around £60 max, don't need no bells and whistles just basic wireless modem with ability to change DNS.

    Thank you

I'm not sure how many fibre modems are about, if you have a separate vdsl modem then you can get a router with Ethernet wan.

I don't think you will get one for £60 but try for a Draytek 2850n or more likely a 2760n, preferably on the 3.x.x.x DrayOS fw. If not bt sell the home hub 5 unlocked for any isp and it seems to be a decent router to me.

I set one up on Thursday but didn't have much time to test it. TP-Link has become a decent budget brand, years ago some stuff was a bit hit and miss but now the routers and switches seem fairly solid. They are ripping Netgear off on design, features and even model numbers though. They have practically cloned the Nighthawk Router and the ProSafe switches.

The W8970 is an adsl router though but has ethernet WAN if you have a separate VDSL modem.
