Itunes Backup encrypted password

trying to remove the encrypt backup check box, asks for PW, I don't remember even checking the box!!

Is there anyway to restore latest backup to new phone?

I've tried usual P/W(s) .....no luck

I'm using win 7 PC with iTunes

I just want to remove the encrypt backup check box, why is iTunes always a faff?

If you do icloud backups use one of them.

i don't do cloud. oh bugger bugger and bugger again.... ever ytime I get a new phone there's always a hitch that makes a 30 min job turn into an all dayer!

Have you tried your usual passwords with a capital letter and probs a number? Apple require a certain level of security now. Not sure if you can use iforgot for encryption passwords.
