Some of the many members here may have run across me at BestTechie, WindowsBBS, Geeks to Go, Bleeping Computer and many other forums regarding computer help. My main user name has always been Whiskeyman and a limited use of TheTerrorist_75. I am an original member of ZDTV/TechTV and migrated to G4 when Comcast bought out TechTV.
I have visited these forums many times in the past when searching an issue that piqued my curiosity. I did find many solutions of which I greatly appreciate. I finally decided to stop lurking by joining and hopefully can be a useful contributor or at least this old dog can learn new tricks.
I am a 59 year young disabled and retired construction worker who's interests are old cars and computers. After a severe injury 14 years ago that caused a bad internal infection my liver was further damaged, alcoholism had taken it's toll previously. I ended up having a liver transplant performed over a year later. As a side effect of my anti-rejection meds my kidneys shutdown completely 5 years ago and have been receiving in center hemodialysis since.
I bought my first computer, a used Gateway 2000 P5-133, in 1997. It didn't take me long to get interested in upgrading the hardware plus operating systems. A couple of years later I was doing computer repair as a side job and building custom systems.
