My 6 year old PC wouldn't power on yesterday. I checked the PSU which is working fine it so must be the motherboard.
So I'm after a new desktop but not sure where to look now a days. Can anyone recommend me a good website please?

I understand and accept that some people hold opinions that are different to my own. Living in a free and democratic society, I fully embrace and respect their right to be wrong.
would always recommend building yourself if at all possible, whats it for? im guessing if its 6 years old its more a web broswer/ office machine?
I thought about building it myself but it's been about 10 years since I built my own and I don't really have the time now. Plus I'm told there's not much savings to be made now.
I use it for browsing and office stuff as I work from home a bit.

Personally, I like off the shelf Dell's.
Instead of spending half the cost on some funky case with clear side panels and LED's and a pimped out PSU, I prefer purchasing a system where all the parts have been thoroughly tested together that normally is cheaper than the cost of the relevant parts purchased seperately.
Also then the guarantee covers the whole system. If it's faulty, send the whole thing back and let the maker fix it rather than spending weeks borrowing parts from friends to test to figure out what is actually wrong.
'Xoomstorms' from a few places. I know a few ppl that got them over the last couple years and they've been okay.
again, build ur own is my advice or a laptop. Hp or Lenovo.
Lots of ppl have their own opinions on here these days so don't necessarily take mine!

Personally I would always go with build your own.
You know exactly what has gone into the PC and know it is all off great quality unlike off the shelf.
I bought one today from PC world on impulse.
HP Pavillion, i5 Processor, 8GB Ram, 2TB HDD and dedicated Nvidia Graphics. Hopefully it'll last me a few years.
Thanks for the advice anyway.

sounds great for your needs enjoy
I would not touch Ebuyer with a shitty stick, ordered one from there it was DOA which ok can happen but the returns policy was not only a nightmare they fucked me about trying to make me deal with Zoostorm which was also a total nightmare and incorrect under contract law, Zoostorm wanted me to post them scans of invoices, proof of purchase etc etc, it would take me half a page to list all the fucking about I was put through, took weeks to get a refund as I changed it from a replacement to refund after the hoops they made me jump through.
Dell are fairly decent these days and hard to match (build your own) on price. Have a look at their discount store (just google it) which is mainly customer returns/cancellations
