unable to retrieve password reset on hotmail

for whatever reason Hotmail accounts seem to be blocked from sending out email confirmations/password resets.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] does not send out the email from DF.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] works fine as tested it now.

Is there anything set in place where this is to stop people registering with other email accounts like Hotmail/gmail/ etc etc.

tried it again says its sent an email to the Hotmail account but once I log into Hotmail and check there is nothing there.
I have made sure there is no spam/junk criteria set for DF. all other folders are empty.

Nothing at all has been sent to my Hotmail account.

From experience its down to Hotmail themselves and I would check the spam folder just in case its not in there.
