MOD to release UK's top secret UFO 'X-Files' that 'could prove aliens exist'

CONFIDENTIAL government reports into Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) sightings - dubbed the "British X-Files" - could be made publicly available within EIGHT months.

The major boost for alien hunters can be exclusively revealed by Express.co.uk on World UFO Day, which campaigners are using to call for the release of all such records globally.


UFO researchers, backed by House of Lords peer, have been fighting for the release of 18 top secret Ministry of Defence (MoD) files about UFO sightings from more than 30 years ago.


The Government faced claims of a cover-up from conspiracy theorists when their release was stalled at the end of 2013.

Some investigators claim the files could provide key evidence of extra-terrestrial life visiting the UK and of specific information about famous controversial sightings such as the Rendlesham Forest incident - a series of reported sightings of unexplained lights and the alleged landing of one or more craft in Suffolk in late December 1980.


Lord Black of Brentwood, who asked the Government for an update through a Parliamentary question, was assured yesterday - the day before World UFO day - the files would be released by the MoD to the National Archives by March next year.


Alien hunters are confident these records could prove if extra-terrestrial life actually exists, as these were the most secretive files held in the private offices of various Cabinet ministers.


Although the files are being released to the National Archives, it is not yet clear when they will

be available for public inspection.

In his Parliamentary question, Lord Black asked: "In relation to the 18 Ministry of Defence

files on unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) that have yet to be released to the public, what is the originating division of the file reference M9/18; what is the remit of that division in relation to UAP; and what is their latest estimate of when the 18 files will be passed to the National Archives, and then released to the public."


Defence Minister Earl Howe replied: "The originating branch of file reference MO9/18 relates to ministers' private offices. The latest estimate of when the 18 files will be delivered to the National Archives is before March 2016.


"The National Archives will make the necessary judgement about when they release these files to the public."

A number of older UFO files held by the UK government have already been released, including details of sightings by officials and police.


Nick Pope, who used to investigate the existence of UFOs for the MoD, said the files should contain some fascinating sightings.


However, referring to what is often called the most famous UFO claim in history - sparked by claims an alien spaceship crashed in New Mexico, US, in 1947 - Mr Pope added the soon-to-be-released files are probably not a "UK Roswell-style UFO in a hangar style cover up".


When the release of the files were stalled in 2014, which the MoD blamed on "additional processing requirements", Mr Pope sympathised with alien researchers.


He said at the time: "This massive delay will have conspiracy theorists up in arms. It looks like the MoD is stalling.

The MOD shut down the branch monitoring UFO activity. If they had discovered things that were of any interest I doubt it would have been cut. Organisations like SETI though publish their findings and have a shit load of money yet they haven't discovered anything concrete despite actively searching so I doubt there's any good info in there except peoples private details and whackjobs reports.

I have personally seen something when I was about 17-18 whilst on my motorbike.
and across the other side of Bristol my best mate and his missus saw exactly the same thing as well as his parents.

you can call me crazy or explain what you like but it was real and fucking fast from hovering for 2 mins approx 200ft above the m32 to completely disappeared in under 3 seconds.

i hope there is more to this life than the general scumbags we have here on earth.
there is a massive universe out there it can't all be empty!

I wouldn't say that, just that the distances involved and the scale of the universe makes us an insignificate speck. We're horribly constrained by the theories of relativity and it would be very arrogant to assume that we're so important that any species that has mastered interplanetary travel would take a great interest in us.

Dunno what you saw, but not knowing what something is doesn't prove that it's what you think it might be.

To think we are all there is in the way of life in this universe be it intelligent or otherwise is ridiculous. It's a bit like when the so called smart arses of this world deemed the world flat, and everything else out there in the night sky revolved about us: we haven't moved on much from that in terms of our understanding. There's plenty of other life out there and a lot of it has evolved billions of years before this planet was even created let alone the life forms on it.

If we are the only living things in the universe then its not only very sad but very scarey and we should be very, very ashamed of ourselves as a species! We are a parasite that not only wants to take over everything but also loves killing each other and tries to find more advanced ways to do it! The sooner the human race either evolves into a peaceful species (Yeah right) Or wipes ourselves out the better!

Good news though, theres is not a cat in hells chance we are the only living thing let alone the most advanced species! So lets just hope that those big bad aliens come and teach us a valuable lesson in how to kill entire species as we seem to love doing as we constantly reproduce and take over more and more each day, one day that will end, it has to!
