Is it possible to do it without a jailbreak or paying O2 £15...?

depends what software and modem version its on, however id say jailbreaking isnt worth it imo and the unlock is better option

Isn't O2 still free using heir online unlock form?
It is if the phone is in contract, this is one i got the the wife. Annoyed that i did not think and that i have to pay 50% of the price of the phone to get the bugger unlocked.
3rd party O2 is down to £15 also so if they wont because of contractual terms then that another route its all iphone models apart from iphone 6/6+ but they can also be done

Well gladly did jot spend any money... Plugged in an ee sim and it just worked....
Guy I got it off said it was locked...
Clearly he is a fool.... [emoji3]
